"CSIAA Academy, an introduction" - Roberto Cherubini
CSIAA, Rome - senior discussant
The architect is a designer. The architect is a writer. Words are inside the drawings. Projects are made of drawings and words. By his words the designer is not just transmitting technical issues, his need is communicating a feeling, a philosophy, the reason of his work. The art of writing about (his) architecture is a part of the architec's talent. Masters of architecture have always been masters both in design such as in writing.
This academy is a sort of writing school for architecture. Our aim is to point out the highline of a connection between elements of architecture and elements of a tale. Because we believe that architecture is a narrative work and that the tale of a building needs to be built as the building needs it. According to CSIAA as a think thank for architecture, our proposal is to collect from senior discussants words and tales about a very general contemporary issue as “architecture as a border line” is. Our goal is to transmit to the junior discussants the pleasure and the know-how of a narrative architecture.
