"Limits, Margins, Thresholds" - Anna Esposito

- limits: a condensation of the meanings of a place along its border;
- margins: hybridization among features of two approaching entities;
- Thresholds: reaching a new status, original result of the mixture, expressed through a symbolic sign of a passage.
Departing from the idea that the identity of places overlaps with the physical and conceptual definition of boundaries, and considering that the identity in the contemporaneity is a fluid and all-changing concept, we are going to propose a dynamic interpretation of the concept of limit, that is at the same time separation and union of two approaching entities. We can describe the idea of limit through a three sequences - cyclic movement :
