Come un semplice codice a barre - la cosa più comune nel mondo delle cose contemporanee - i pontili paralleli di una marina da diporto striano l’acqua del mare all’interno delle dighe foranee.

Sulle banchine, il codice percorre le superfici solide all’asciutto attribuendo a loro una forma e una identità.

Poco più avanti il codice piega dove l’acqua diventa balneabile. Al suo temine, come i numeri di riconoscimento, un sistema di piazze galleggianti attrezza il sito a nuove opportunità d’uso.

Le piazze galleggianti migrano stagionalmente da posizioni estive, quando la spiaggia si affolla, a posizioni invernali, a ridosso della diga foranea, quando la marina può servirsene per rivitalizzare le sue banchine altrimenti deserte.

Le piazze galleggianti non sono solo superfici scoperte ma edifici leggeri capaci di offrire anche spazi coperti e protetti alle attività che si svolgono all’interno, utili d’estate e d’inverno per i medesimi fruitori una volta in costume da bagno, l’altra in giacconi impermeabili da navigatori.

Le piazze fanno riferimento ad un edificio matrice più ampio a terra che ne riassume il valore di insieme e ispira il nuovo disegno delle parti della marina che restano immutate all’intorno.

Questo è il semplice concept della nuova marina di Loano.

Like a simple barcode - the most common thing in the world of contemporary things - the parallel piers of the marina streak the water of the docks inside the breakwaters.

On the quay, the barcode runs dry on solid surface, giving it a shape and an identity.

A little further on, the code folds, where the water becomes suitable for swimming. At its end, like the numbers of the identification system, a system of floating squares equips the site with new opportunities for use.

The floating squares migrate seasonally from summer positions, when the beach is crowded, to winter positions, close to the breakwater, when the marina can use them to revitalize its otherwise deserted quays.

The floating squares are not only uncovered surfaces but also light buildings able of offering covered and protected spaces for the activities that take place inside, useful in summer and winter for the same users. Once in a bathing suit, the other in waterproof coats for yachtsmen.

The floating squares refer to a larger main building on the ground that summarizes their value and inspires the re-design of the parts of the marina that remain unchanged around.

This is the simple concept of this proposal for Loano marina harbour.
